Description

About 100 hours of 'dabbling' went into this, my first sculpture.
Wow, doesn't seem like alot for a month's work, but I had a blast.
I am enjoying myself back in non-virtual media again :)

Unpainted version:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/skulpturro/CompositeLokapala.jpg

This character is a temple guardian, developed through photomanipulation and realized here in Super Sculpey Firm.

Edit:
Photograph lightened in Photoshop, view of back of bust added.
Thanks for the suggestions, Kadu & Valera!!

Daaaaaaammmmnnnn!!!! I didn't expect this to turn out this good! Really man, high quality modeling, you managed to make it look just as good as your manipulations. Is it clay? Excellent. +20

oh wicked! I wish I could do this sort of stuff! I was thinking the same thing as Arne...is it clay/real? I am presuming it is and if so I am impressed more so!

Arne & A-J:
It's a polymer clay that stays moldable until it is heated to at least 100°C in an ordinary oven.

Kadu:
Thanks, I'm glad you're here to appreciate sculpture, I might not have submitted a "non-virtual" 3D piece without your influence.

Cupcake:
It's so fun to work in more than one medium, I can see now why you paint and photomanip!!

Bea:
Thankyou for pushing me to sculpt. You were right, it's great fun!!

Paranoid Child:
Your sweetness and kindness are bigger than any words. Thank you!!

Zhdesigner:
I'd be surprised if everybody liked my subject. You are absolutely right in expressing your style differences. As far as your questions,
Strangely enough, the subject was chosen by me.
Museum? I can think of worse places for a piece of art to be shown.
Terminator 4? I just wet my pants considering work for a motion picture.
Ashtray? That is truly a cheap shot considering what ashtrays are used for :(
If I could find another category to place my sulpture in , I would; it's unfortunate that you think that my piece has no place in 3D.
